CLIMATE FRIENDLY CAMP at the 19th Croatian Camping Congress
The most significant annual event of the Croatian camping sector – the 19th Croatian Camping Congress - will take place from 27 to 29 October 2025 at Amadria Park Hotel Ivan in Šibenik, organised by the Croatian Camping Association (KUH). The Congress brings together representatives of the camping industry, the public sector, equipment manufacturers and suppliers, IT solution providers, and all camping enthusiasts who share a common goal -the development of a sustainable, innovative, and competitive Croatian camping product.
During the three-day program, participants will have the opportunity to attend expert lectures, panel discussions, and workshops covering the most relevant topics in the sector, including:
• the latest European and domestic camping trends,
• the positioning of Croatian camping products in the international market,
• an overview of competitive markets’ performance,
• and the application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and new technologies in camp management processes.
A special focus of this year’s Congress is placed on business models for climate-sustainable camps, which also represents the core theme of the CLIMATE FRIENDLY CAMP project. The CLIMATE FRIENDLY CAMP project, implemented by Camp GLAVOTOK in cooperation with partners PENTA, SENSUM, and 3E PROJEKTI, will be presented at the Congress. The goal of the project is to develop a business model for climate-sustainable camps, designed as a tool to achieve climate sustainability and emission neutrality. The model provides practical guidelines and innovative solutions for:
• reducing environmental impact,
• optimizing resources and energy efficiency,
• using renewable energy sources,
• and ensuring sustainable waste management.
This approach results in improved service quality, a better guest experience, and higher profitability for camps, while preserving the natural environment. As a project partner, PENTA made a key contribution to the technological and digital segments of the model through the development and integration of smart solutions enabling:
• monitoring the use of recycling machines, water refill stations, and composters,
• data collection from an integrated weather station,
• and enhanced digital content, benefits, and reward programs for guests.
These features enable easy implementation of the model in practice, providing camps with an effective tool for sustainability management and long-term competitiveness. The use of advanced digital systems allows faster and simpler data collection and management, while the intuitive app enables campers to not only track their environmental impact, but also actively contribute to environmental protection, all while enjoying numerous interactive benefits.
The project successfully completed its industrial research and experimental development phases on June 1, 2025. At the Congress, the main project results will be presented, the CLIMATE FRIENDLY CAMP business model and the innovative CLIMATE FRIENDLY App, a web and mobile application developed by the PENTA team. The application enables camps to easily monitor sustainability indicators and implement recommended measures in line with the model.
Participation in the 19th Croatian Camping Congress represents an excellent opportunity for networking, knowledge exchange, and showcasing innovative solutions that shape the future of the camping sector. The presentation of the CLIMATE FRIENDLY CAMP project further emphasizes the importance of a sustainable, digital, and climate-responsible approach to tourism, values that PENTA actively promotes in all its projects. PENTA is proud to contribute as a partner to the creation of smart and sustainable solutions for the camping industry, in line with European green goals and the vision of a sustainable future.
See you in Šibenik, from 27th to 29th October 2025!
